Tie it Up!

We do A LOT of bow tying around here all year long, but especially during the holidays when items are drop shipped directly to the recipient.  To adorn your boxes with beautiful bows simply grab a couple of rolls of ribbon and follow the directions below from Better Homes & Gardens.

Wrap to your heart's content

creative_gift_wrapAt Haute Papier, we agonize over the perfect gift wrap.  Whether it's wrapping everything in the same paper with the same bows or personalized paper and embellishments for each recipient, we (and by we, I mean me, Sarah) think about it for months.  Is it better to have the overwhelming abundance of different colors and patterns under the tree or the symbiotic and classic look of kraft paper with green grosgrain bows?  What have I done this year, you're just going to have to wait and see, but until then here are a bunch of ideas for wrapping and embellishing to your hearts contest! 1. Linea Paper Garland (I know, I already shared this earlier this week, but I couldn't resist resharing) 2. Quilled Snowflake Ornament (isn't this the most beautiful package topper?!) 3. Don't Open Tags 4. Translucent Wrapping (the simple folding and refolding of tissue paper is so beautiful!) 5. Cut Flower Bow (this is really simple - just cut the loops of a premade bow and voila!) 6. Divine Twine 7. Kraft Paper Wrap (I love adorning packages with pieces of greens from the yard) 8. Sewing Patterns as Gift Wrap

Incredible Proposal

Since so many of our clients are brides, we can't resist when we see something related to nuptials, especially when it brings on a flood of tears like Niagara Falls!  Bakerella (one of my favorite blogs of all time) created these little mini wedding cakes to help Rich (the now fiance of one of her avid readers) propose.  The story is amazing as are these incredible desserts.  Click away for the how to!4022874563_6fba19bc75_o4022874885_8afd766f47_o

Orderly Ribbons

gt007_ribbonsbow1_lThis is fabulous... It's a clean, orderly and fashionable way to store rolls of ribbon.

It's Martha Stewart's Organizing Tip of the Day, which I impatiently wait to fill my inbox every morning.

They simply took copper gutters, had them cut to the size that would fit along their wall, and filled them with spools of their favorite double-faced rolls. We're always looking for new ideas that look great and help keep our plethora of supplies organized and easily available.

Happy Crafting!

The Art of Coordinating Paperie

I'm a complete sucker for coordinating papierie... not to the point of being mother/daughter matching Lilly Pulitzer, but I like when things go together just right! My mom, sisters and I hosted a tea for my cousin who is getting married a couple of weekends ago and I wanted to share the pics and template for creating your own matching tea paperie.  Click here for the original post from The District Domestic.dsc_0120We created these super cute little tea bags by sewing together two pieces of very fine mesh on three sides then using embroidery floss to stitch around the top.  Once filled with tea, all it takes is pulling the thread tight to close the bag.  Here's the template for making the tags on the end of the thread.

dsc_0116Here are the tags that went on the loose leaf tea that we used to fill the homemade tea bags with.

And here are the tags for the food and favors.
