We were excited to open the Washington Post Express today and see our Haute Box stationery subscription service listed as one of their favorite new things!

So, what is this “Haute Box” you ask?  For starters, it really is everything above and more!  If you choose to be a participant,  each quarter you’ll receive a fabulous box filled with Haute Papier goodies delivered straight to your door!  Each box is full of surprises – you never know what exciting new items you’ll uncover.  From old favorites with a fresh twist to emerging gems, we’re excited to give you a sneak peek at the sort of treats you would receive.

So, what’s the nitty gritty, logistical down-low? • $20 per quarter which includes shipping! • The value of the goodies will be at least $20 • You can opt-out at any time.  For as long as you’re a member, your credit card on file will be charged and your Haute Box will ship the first week of each quarter.  If you choose to opt-out for good or just for a particular quarter, cancellations can be accepted at any time – just email hautebox@hautepapier.com

I’m in! I’m in! And can’t wait!  How do I sign up? • It’s simple!  Visit our Etsy listing here to sign up for the year and here to sign up for just one box to start.

Gilded in Gold Easter Eggs

Dying Easter eggs has always been an important family tradition in the Meyer house and as the children who used to guard their mugs of eggs soaking until they couldn't get any more color got older, the tradition has evolved with each of us celebrating the holiday with our own new traditions.  This year I decided to try a new take on the annual craft and was so excited to come across this super DIY tutorial for foiling eggs.  The process is actually pretty simple - especially if you've worked with gold gilding sheets in the past.  I found the eggs took the size (the glue for foil sheets) much better at room temperature.  Pics of my project after the jump.  Happy Easter!a

Mother's Day Go-To Gifts!

Here's a quick sampling of my favorite Mother's Day go-to gifts!!  We're always so busy with the Spring wedding season and preparing for The National Stationery Show that, admittedly, this holiday sneaks up on me each year.  Many of these are easy to put together at the last minute and do truly touch the heart!  Oh and that last one I threw in there ... that's a big 'ole hint for my better half!

1... Mom's own stationery wardrobe.  Specifically from Haute Papier's letterpress and foil Bold & Beautiful collection.  The mix and match options are just too much to handle (in a good way of course)!!  2... A stunning bouquet.  We love all the inspiration we get these days from Pinterest and our local floral friends.  It's easy enough to grab unique silver bowl or vase at a estate or yard sale and fill it with a one-of-a-kind-touch-the-heart bouquet.  I'm not sure if she does individual bouquets or just events, but for a drop-dead gorgeous bouquet that you don't have to assemble, give our friend Holly of Holly Heider Chapple Flowers a call to see if she can put something stunning together for you!  Give her enough notice - this super mom deserves a ton of time off around this sacred holiday!  3... Photo books!  We love the photo books at My Publisher.  And they often have a give one-get one special.  I call that a win win!  4... Dinner for a week.  I'm a busy mom and dinner time can be quite hectic, but who says a few ready-to-go freezer meals or stocking the fridge full of family faves isn't a good option for that special mom in your life?  Think about all the meals she's put together for you over the years.  Why not let her take a week off dinner duty!  5... A professional house cleaning.  No explanation needed!

We love tying the knots!

Our girls admire new and creative packaging ideas for all the orders flying out the door!  We just love taking the time to create beautiful bows to match the lovely stationery our customers are receiving.  That's why when we saw this latest from packaging knot "how-to" from Craftzine we just had to share.  It is too cool ... and will be adorning a few of our silk boxes soon!!
