Since my sister was visiting this weekend, I didn't get a chance to do any crafting, but I did come across this awesome (and super easy) tutorial from Molly Jacques! If you love chalkboard typography as much as I do, you'll be super interested in how to translate a pencil sketch into a beautiful white on black print! Visit her blog here for the photoshop how to!
Real Wedding: Cate & Tim
We had the pleasure of working with Thy from Evoke in the planning for Cate & Tim's big day. We just loved thinking up the perfect paperie for all of the little details from the Menus to the cookie signs to their thank yous! All photo credits go to Renee Sprink Photography.
Emily's Stationery Shop
A few days ago, in the midst of her annual Spring cleaning, my mother came across a special piece of artwork I made when I was seven years old! She emailed me this picture and proceeded to explain how I used to hand paint note cards and sell them to my friends and family. I have to say though – minus the awful clip art and misspelling of “stationery,” my price point was right on... not exactly! Clearly, I’ve been passionate about stationery from a young age!
A Peek Inside: A Rarity at HP
O hey!! What is this you see? In case you all had to do a double take, yes, that is Erin! It is a rare chance you see her sitting! Let alone with her feet up. No, she is not just chatting it up on the phone relaxing. Erin was in the middle of some phone interviews and needed a break from standing at the letterpress all day. So amidst the crazy production and hum of Gretel, Erin stole away to the Silk Room for some quiet. I could not resist getting a quick snapshot.
Easy Etiquette - Choosing An Envelope Addressing Method!
We, of course, love love love the look of beautiful hand-written calligraphy! It's that extra special touch that make your invited guests just swoon. At a cost of between $3.50 and $5.50 it is certainly not in everyone's budget, but it's a great little extra for those who must have it! A pain-stacking art practiced by fewer and fewer in recent years, this is definitely the most formal and traditional way to address a wedding invitation suite. Though Haute Papier does not have a calligrapher on staff, we work with a handful of the country's most respected calligraphers to ensure that your invitations are addressed perfectly!
If traditional calligraphy is not in your budget, please don't fret since it no longer means you'll be hunched over for hours addressing your own invitations in what your elementary school teachers insisted was chicken scratch! Oh no, now computer printed addressing is widely available for all types of envelopes. Haute Papier offers this for our couture and wholesale items, and at a cost of between $1.50 and $2.50 it's a great deal! Check out how beautifully it can match your invitation set! Anything from a traditional script font to a funky block is sure to catch the eye of your guests!
