Real Wedding: Cate & Tim

We had the pleasure of working with Thy from Evoke in the planning for Cate & Tim's big day.  We just loved thinking up the perfect paperie for all of the little details from the Menus to the cookie signs to their thank yous!  All photo credits go to Renee Sprink Photography.

Black & White Beauty

We've been just bursting at the seams to share this one with you, but had to wait since it is featured in this month's Brides! It was so much fun to create this suite for Cate & Tim - they just asked for sophisticated, classic contemporary and then let us take it away!  The invites are engraved in white on the black paper for the front and the back is a reverse, with white paper and their monogram engraved in black.  We love the custom envelope liners that incorporate the starburst design from their monogram.  Stay tuned for pictures of the creative details put together for their reception by EVOKE!

In Print: "The Lettered Set"

I love this article from The New York Times last week.

Elizabeth Mayhew a lifestyle expert for the "Today" show is a stationery lover with a hutch in her New York apartment that's full to the ceiling of personalized stationery. She says writing a note involves more than “just thinking about my own style.”

“I really think about who I’m writing to and what they would appreciate, and I try to match that stylistically as best I can,” she said. “That process is such a different emphasis from writing a quick e-mail."

My favorite line from the article is from Anna Post, Emily Post’s great-great-granddaughter and the spokeswoman for the Emily Post Institute. She said the No. 1 suggestion — “we don’t use the word ‘rule’ anymore” — regarding correspondence is this: “If you think you should be sending a thank-you note instead of an e-mail, then you should.”
