Surprise Anniversary Party - The Setup
This past weekend, my sisters and I hosted a SURPRISE 30th Anniversary Party for my parents. Let me just say, I'm never doing a surprise party again! While the planning was SO much fun, the stress of keeping it all a secret and telling fibs was just too much! And to top if off, Old Man Weather was so cooperative with a week full of rain, that we had to change venues the day before! Alas, the party went off without a hitch and was, well, a surprise! They didn't have a clue! Stay tuned to see their reactions in Part 2 tomorrow!
Keep Calm...
I couldn't resist... My printer is going like mad printing these onto iron on transfer paper so I can give them to everyone I see between now and 4am when the Royal Wedding starts... I know, ridiculous, but I couldn't help myself! Click here for the downloadable template.
Egg Warmers
It’s not as if I don’t already have enough to do in getting ready for Easter this weekend, but now I’ve added whipping up some of these. I couldn’t help but link to this super cute Easter craft since I’m going to rush out to the craft store tonight to get some felt so I can put them over everyone’s eggs on Sunday morning.
A First Birthday!
Oh what fun, our little Miss Etta Marie turned one! This meant one thing – it was time to party!
Her soiree was a “Pizza, Pops & Playtime” theme and we put a ton of work into the details! We decided to use two of Smock's wonderful papers from their Everday line which can be found at Haute Papier Leesburg. The purple and red of the Flounce and Quadrille flat papers really captured the playful look we were going for. We designed the invitations to include a hand-cut one and coordinating liner.
We used the four designs for paper decorations throughout the house. Our favorite touch? The delicate sewn circle garland strung throughout. Of course, the refreshments fit the theme.
Did you know there were so many foods with the word pop in them? Popcorn, pop rocks, pop chips, cake pops and the list goes on and on! Overall it was a truly adorable event and fun was had by all. Happy Birthday to Etta Marie!
