Vendor Spotlight: Cloud Nine Bridal Boutique

Cloud Nine Bridal Boutique in Peoria, Illinois is an intimate and detail-orientated boutique. Rachel will assit you in choosing the perfect wedding invitation to the perfect dress for your special day. I just had to find out more about Rachel and Cloud Nine!

How many years have you been in business?  Cloud Nine Bridal Boutique + Fine Paper opened its doors in August 2011. We have been so fortunate to have had a very successful eight months and look forward to serving many more brides in the years to come!

Do you have a website, if so, what's the address?  Our website is www.cloudninepeoria.com - also give us a "like" on Facebook!!

If you were to sell something other than stationery, what would it be?   Along with servicing brides and other clientele with our fine paper, we also sell gorgeous bridal gowns... hand selected from the top designers.  We are proud to provide a home where brides can find their gown and invitations ... we work diligently in perfecting the perfect match for both!

Besides the obvious (stationery), what is your favorite thing to give as a hostess gift?  We agree that candles are another great option as a hostess gift -- we sell Lafco candles.  They are made with hand blown glass that you can use again!  They smell heavenly and are gorgeous!

Here at Haute Papier, we love to eat!  When in NYC for the National Stationery Show, where is your favorite place to grab dinner?   I love to go to the bar at the St. Regis and people watch ... the energy is always amazing and it's a guaranteed great time!  You also can't go wrong with any family-owned restaurant in Little Italy - delicious!

Any other tidbits about your store you'd like to share?   Cloud Nine's experience is like no other -- most bridal gown appointments are private, so the bride has the luxury of having the entire store all to herself.  We love for brides to walk in with their family and friends, enjoy a glass of bubbly and remember her experience at Cloud Nine for as long as possible ...

Thanks Rachel! I can't wait to see you at the National Stationery Show!

Our Couture Consultations

Haute Papier is pleased to offer its clients the many services designed to make the inviting process as flawless and enjoyable as possible!

Our process begins with a consultation, usually in person at our studio, but sometimes over the phone.  At this meeting, our design team becomes acquainted with you and your event.  We are sure to ask several questions so we can create the most perfect paperie possible.  We think of our couture pieces as works of art, so the process is very hands on.  During the meeting, we will review the rest of the process.  Don't worry, we will walk you through everything!

To schedule a consultation, please call or email Emily at 866.740.4222 or emily@hautepapier.com

Make it... for Breakfast!

In all the craziness that is the weeks leading up to the National Stationery Show, I feel like I barely get out the door in the morning, let alone grabbing a Greek yogurt (my fave!) from the fridge.  This weekend, I took a step back and prepared some food for the week... Healthy lunches, bags of vegetables for snacks and homemade granola to top that yogurt for breakfast.  Give it a go - it just might give you that boost that I find myself needing in the morning!

Homemade Maple Granola

1/4 cup vegetable oil 2/3 cup maple syrup 2 tsp almond extract 4 cups oatmeal (not the quick stuff… you want the old fashioned oats!) 1/2 cup pumpkin seeds 1/2 cup slivered almonds 1/2 cup golden raisins 1/2 cup dried cherries

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a small bowl, combine the maple syrup, oil and almond extract. Mix well.

In a large bowl, combine the rest of the ingredients. Stir to combine. Drizzle syrup mixture over oat mixture until all syrup has been incorporated.

Spread out on a greased cookie sheet and bake for 7 minutes. Remove from oven and stir mixture around on cookie sheet. Return to oven for 8 minutes more or until golden brown.

Let cool and serve. (If stored in an air tight container, granola will keep for a couple of weeks.)

Enjoy!
