A First Birthday!

EttasParty Oh what fun, our little Miss Etta Marie turned one!  This meant one thing – it was time to party!

Her soiree was a “Pizza, Pops & Playtime” theme and we put a ton of work into the details!  We decided to use two of Smock's wonderful papers from their Everday line which can be found at Haute Papier Leesburg.  The purple and red of the Flounce and Quadrille flat papers really captured the playful look we were going for.  We designed the invitations to include a hand-cut one and coordinating liner.

We used the four designs for paper decorations throughout the house.  Our favorite touch? The delicate sewn circle garland strung throughout.  Of course, the refreshments fit the theme.

Did you know there were so many foods with the word pop in them? Popcorn, pop rocks, pop chips, cake pops and the list goes on and on!  Overall it was a truly adorable event and fun was had by all. Happy Birthday to Etta Marie!

The Sketchbook Project!

We love The Sketchbook Project created by the boys at Art House Co-op! It features sketchbooks created especially for the project by people all over the world. The best part of this project is that anyone can participate, even you! The creators receive sketchbooks from professional artists and stay-at-home moms alike, and all of the books are exhibited during their countrywide tour. 500x350The project has some themes to get the creative juices flowing, and the rest is up to you! Each participant receives a Moleskine sketchbook (one of our favorites) to fill with drawings, paintings, collages, and anything you can imagine. We love that anyone can participate and show off their creativity, and once the tour is over the books are stored at the Brooklyn Art Library for future generations to see! You can find out more about the project here!

A Good Use for Paint Swatches

We love Sherwin Williams’ brilliant new Color Chips campaign created by McKinney (which is located in Erin's hometown)! The new ads feature color-chip sculptures created by paper artist Matthew Sporzynski, owner of New York’s Couturier de Cardboard Inc. Sporzynski first stunned viewers with his beautiful paper constructions that filled the pages of Real Simple magazine, but his paint chip replications of ice cream cones playful girafees have blown us away! As if these paper creations aren’t amazing enough, the campaing also includes an iPhone app and interactive Color Snap technology . Now you can use your iPhone or Blackberry to capture a color that inspires you and match it to one of 1,500 Sherwin-Williams paint colors. This campaign is defiantly geared toward the color-obsessed designer, which is why we love it so much!

Luxe Letterpress - Part One

Last week at the National Stationery Show, we were delighted to launch Luxe, our beautiful (if we may say so ourselves) letterpress wedding album.  In the next couple of weeks, we're going to give you some sneak peeks into the designs.  Each suite was designed to help coordinate every aspect of the couple's wedding from the save-the-date to the program and the coasters to the thank yous.  All of our letterpressing is done on Crane's 110# 100% cotton paper made right here in the good ole' USA.
