Nothing like saving the best for last! I've been waiting for weeks to share this last holiday card suite with you. We created this for one of Haute Papier's dearest friends and long time client, Nancy Margaret. She wanted a big "wow" factor this year since the birth of her and her husband's first child happened in 2011 and she had the most adorable photograph to share with friends and family. We still can't figure out how they got all three dogs and the baby to sit still for this great shot by Jennifer Anderson Photography (once our neighbor in Leesburg!). The cards were printed on Crane's 220# lettra (so luxurious!) with red letterpress and silver foil stamping on both the front and back. The envelopes were the perfect shimmery red with silver foiled snowflakes falling on both the flap and front of the envelope... and we couldn't have a suite this great without custom stamps as a final touch! Thank you to The Adlers for giving us the creative liberty, as always, to put this wintery delight together for you!
Party Party
Party Party in Fairfield, CT is the one stop shop for every event! Mary Thornton has worked hard for seven years in event planning and in the last year opened a store. Her store offers gifts and stationery for everyone's needs. We had to hear more about Mary and Party Party!!! How many years have you been in business? I have had my shop for 1 year, but my event planning business for 7 years.
Do you have a website, if so, what's the address? My website is www.partypartyfairfield.com.
If you were to sell something other than stationery, what would it be? When I am not selling stationery I love to plan parties, of course!
Besides the obvious (stationery), what is your favorite thing to give as a hostess gift? One of my favorite hostess gifts is a box of Haute Papier letterpress coasters (no kidding!) I also love a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers or linen cocktail napkins.
Here at Haute Papier, we love to eat! When in NYC for the National Stationery Show, where is your favorite place to grab dinner? I am a New Yorker from way back so I have lots of favorites in the Big Apple. Love Balthazar and Union Square Cafe. Santa Fe on the Upper West Side has great Mexican and killer margaritas.
We can't wait to see you in NYC Mary!! Only a few more months until the National Stationery Show!
Made with Love - Doughnuts!
We were in Buffalo for the weekend and were delighted when our friend, Doug, made these for breakfast one morning. We thought he'd been up for hours fussing in my mom's kitchen... kneading and waiting and rolling... little did we know! He did spill the secret, which you're just not going to believe! I've made homemade doughnuts a few times and they're always delish, the problem is just that if you're serving them for breakfast, that means you're up hours before everyone else... Not anymore... Keep reading for the secret :)
It's all good ... Biggie Typography Posters!
I've been loving the weekly installments of Jay Roeder's "Juicy" by Notorious B.I.G. lyrical typography drawings. Roeder is self-described as addicted to "drawing letters, lyrics, and random stuff." These posters really bring me back to my school days - driving around with my gals, listening to awesome music, talking about boys and generally being too cool! The "Juicy" posters represent one line of the rap, posted each Friday to Roeder's blog, until the lyrics run out. Can't wait until Friday? Check out some of Roeder's other super creative posters!
Hot off the Press : New Year's Card
We are just completely smitten with the gold and silver foil we did on this Happy New Year card for one of our fabulous vendors in NYC. I especially can't stop looking at the silver snowflakes on the shimmery charcoal envelopes! Foil stamping is so in right now and we think it's perfect for the upcoming wedding season too!!! xoxo
