A Few of Our Favorite Things

Clients often ask, "what inspires you?"  or "How do you come up with all of these designs?" Erin and I, like most designers, find inspiration in the things all around us.  I carry a camera with me just about everywhere I go so I can quickly take a snapshot of whatever I might encounter.  For example, Sunday I found a vendor at Easter Market selling a bunch of California cases and old type.  Imagine my surprise!  It's hard to track it down when you're looking for it - let alone run into it while searching for furniture!

Which speaking of furniture, that's from where the inspiration from this post comes.  My husband and i just refinished the hardwood floors in our apartment and now I'm working on buying some new furniture and reupholstering some oldies, but goodies and I've always loved Amy Butler's fabrics.  I'm thinking about going with the bottom right pattern in the Nigella layout below.  Aren't these beautiful?!

And their off ...

I know we've "hinted" about what a great National Stationery Show we had back in May.  Well, with overwhelming success came a lot of hard work (and work and work and work!)  Now I'm not complaining, there's still way too much still to finish up to start complaining now!  That being said, I've always been one who believes in counting small successes in life.  That's what I'm doing today, because late last week our Personal Stationery line hit retailers shelves around the country!  Check out the Haute Papier website to see the current vendors who are carrying our line.  If you don't see your local stationer, please feel free to suggest a retailer.  We've designed something for everyone in our line that includes twenty designs which can be letterpressed or flat printed and can be paired with different envelope liner options.  Here's a sneak peak at what you'll see when you track down our binder!

Fabulous Find: TapeSwell

One of my favorite companies at the moment is TapeSwell.  They create this beautiful packaging tape that inspired Erin and me to create a special tape for all of our Haute Papier mailings.  The new HP tape isn't here yet, but we'll be sure to share pictures when it arrives.

Check out these beautiful products in the mean time!  My favorite is the purple lacy one.  Erin likes the blue tinsely one.  The tapes are available online for $7 for 27.5 yards.  Not bad in comparison to what Kinko's charges for packing tape!
